Windsor’s Best Dance Crew

On Sunday I got to hit up the last dance workshop put on by b-boy Rob “Loebz” Loebach of the Ill at Will Crew. For years he has devoted his efforts to preserving the art of breakdancing in Windsor through workshops such as Sunday’s.

The event led off with Jihoon of Ill at Will (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5n91hBsiy0) teaching hip hop choreography along with an intro to house dancing and popping. Renowned b-boy, Puzzles (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQl9yU9yoUA) of Toronto’s Supernaturalz Crew, followed with valuable teachings for up and coming b-boys and b-girls. The grand finale was the 2vs2 Pro-Am battle which was won by Onton and Lil Paolo.

Although this was the last workshop organized by Loebz, his mission does not stop here. According to Loebz, “My goal will not stop, but only continue on in other forms. I cannot thank you guys enough, you’ve all inspired me to be a better person AND b-boy.”

Loebz’s next step is emceeing the Canadian Breast Cancer Society Fashion show on August 27th. They are currently looking for models and volunteers. E-mail Loebz at loebz519@gmail.com for more information.

Much respect to Loebz and Ill at Will for keeping the art alive, providing the youth a positive outlet of expression, and for instilling the history of the art to aspiring b-boys and b-girls.
